New Evangelization
“DEEPEN OUR FAITH”: New Evangelization Project
Pope Benedict XVI invited the Catholic Church to a New Evangelization effort in the Western Countries.
Answering to this appeal, Archbishop Anthony Mancini created a new office in the Church of Halifax to organize the New Evangelization project and is asking the parishes to promote it.
Along with the whole Church in the Western Countries, we are strongly asked to refresh the roots of our Faith to be meaningful witnesses of the Gospel in a secularized world.
We invite you to continue in our faith journey that began with three meetings last June. We are continuing this journey, beginning in September 2011, to go until June 2012. You are all invited to join the first Session of meetings on Thursdays: September 22nd , 29th and October 6th, 2011.
Topics for the first three Sessions of our gathering until Christmas:
1.THE MEANS OF TRANSMISSION OF THE REVELATION ~ In the first Session we spoke about God's Revelation. Let's consider more deeply how this Revelation came to us through the Sacred Scripture and the Oral Tradition.
2.FAITH ~ Through the Revelation God is calling us to restore the friendship with Him. Our Faith is the answer to this call. Let's discover what Faith is and what it requires of us.
3.THE CHURCH ~ God is calling us and we are answering Him back through our Faith. This doesn't happen in the solitude of our rooms but among our brothers and sisters in the Faith Community: the Church. Let's understand better what is the Church about.
